TVXQ’s fanclub ‘Cassiopeia’ made a fan album to support TVXQ.

Cassiopeia introduced a single album ‘Love Melody’ at an online music site on the 27th of October. This album was made by Cassiopeia who sang, composed and made the lyrics to show their love and power.

The title song ‘Love Melody’ is a ballad song with lyrics meaning such as ‘we will always be by your side’. As the album was introduced to public, the netizen (people on the computer) said ‘TVXQ’s fanclubs are just so amazing’ ‘ A amateur showing this much skill is terrific!’..etc with surprised responses.

TVXQ’s fans said ‘while I was listening to the songs I felt deeply touched’ ‘I wish TVXQ won’t give up and feel energized’…they added warm comments.
Meanwhile, it was told that the benefits of the album will be donated to charity.

TVXQ's Victory Is A Call For Change

On the 27th, the Seoul District Courts sided with popular group TVXQ's three members and their exclusive contract suspension against SM Entertainment. The Courts decided that the entertainment agency was not allowed to create new contracts without the consent of the celebrity and must not interfere with said celebrity's independent activities in the business. Therefore, a road of free movement has opened up for the members of TVXQ. Although the formal trial procedures are left, this decision seems to shed light on the future of unlawful contracts that are rampant in the entertainment business. Overall, the call for shift from a vertical relationship to a parallel, equal relationship is welcomed. Many expect this dispute to lead into an equal relationship between celebrities and agencies in the future.

Till now, the Korean entertainment business, as the term 'slave contract' implies, has been criticized for its inability to escape unlawfulness and unfairness. The majority of celebrities was put at a disadvantage starting from when their contracts were set up and have become mere tools of agencies. From their official activities to personal actions, everything celebrities did was dictated by their agencies. This was the kind of situation that the three members of the nation's best idol group were in when they went against their agency. If they were in such a state, it is not hard to think of what unthinkable states the no-name celebrities and not-so-famous celebrities are in.

Most domestic entertainment agencies work under a scout-train-management system. Agencies have trained talented rookies and raised the value of no-name celebrities in this organized and investing method. However, although it is easy for a celebrity to become wound up in an unlawful exclusive contract, it is not as easy to escape from his or her entrapment. It can be said that the Courts ruled that, "This is an unfair structure that does not give the members even the bare minimum rights they should have," and "As the members have to pay extremely large amounts of compensation if they go against the contract, it is impossible for the members to wander astray from the contract," because of such methods employed by entertainment agencies.

This decision will bring about a big change to the entertainment business as a whole. This is because the complaints that have been silenced till now may erupt and flood. There is a high chance that the dispute between the members of TVXQ and their agency will take a long time. Right after the Courts' decision, the three members stated that they would file lawsuits for Compensation for Damages and Exclusive Contract Nullification, while the agency has stated that they will be revealing information that the Courts requested they keep quiet from the media and an official statement. This reporter hopes that this dispute will not end a mere expendable argument, but a stepping stone to a new cultural ]change in the entertainment industry. The tyrannical domination of the biased and vertical patriarchal culture that believes that, "Since I have raised them, I can do whatever I want with them," must now come to an end. It is time that a win-win and equal relationship was created in our entertainment business to take the industry to a whole new level.

Ga-In visits Jo Kwon’s dorm and his bedroom

Brown Eyed Girls member Ga-In visited 2AM's dorm to see her husband Jo Kwon on the popular show We Got Married.

Though Jo Kwon is still recovering from the swine flu and couldn't film a new episode of We Got Married, filming for this weeks episode took place before he got sick.

Jo Kwon's room was what one would expect from a diva with a bedroom sheet of flower patterns, a piano keyboard, and general cleanliness. Ga-In stated that this room doesn't really look like a guys room and Jo-Kwon responded by asking her to test the bed springs by jumping up and down with their rear ends on the bed. As Ga-In looked around Jo Kwon said, "It felt like she was someone who's been to my room a lot before."

Ga-In also got to meet the other members, Jinwoon and Seulong. They were sleeping and caught off guard when Ga-In was there to wake them up. Seulong and Ga-In are friends in real life because they're the same age, so the initial awkwardness faded when they saw each other.

SS501 on MTV Taiwan

SS501 were the special guests on the most recent episode of MTV Taiwan's Crazy Over Japan and Korea Music.

The boys didn't travel to Taiwan for the interview, instead the host and crew of the show flew to Korea to meet up with the boys. Kim Bum, Kara, Epik High, and more on Infinity Challenge!

Last week's Infinity Challenge Rice Farming Special was pretty epic as it featured 2PM with Jaebeom. One might've thought that the show would have a letdown after having such awesome guests the week before, but think again because this weeks show was just as epic.

This weeks show featured a super star lineup including Kim Bum, KARA, M (Lee Min Woo), Epik High, Bada (SES), and Jewelry.

Each one of the members of the Infinity Challenge crew called the stars to come down to the rice farm. In the early morning Jung Joon Ha called Kim Bum to come down and he came with some prepared food for the crew and he also put on some boots to help them out in the rice field.

In the afternoon, Gil called upon Epik High where Epik High put on a performance for the crew and Jun Jin called upon his fellow Shinhwa member Lee Minwoo (M). Yoo Jae Suk called Bada (SES) and Jewelry. Gil got a bit shy when he saw his girlfriend Park Jung Ah from Jewelry. Park Myung Soo called KARA's Gyuri and they showed up to do a "butt dance" performance for the crew.

Yunho U-Know #2 in Naruto-like Idols

Anibox did a survey from 20th till 27th October on Tooniland online on 1729 netizens asking the question “Which idol group star suits the anime character Naruto the best?”and DaeSung was chosen as #1 with 533 votes.

The reason that netizens chose Daesung was that he is very energetic and likes to play and jokes around, similar to that Naruto.

TVXQ’s Income revealed

With the court agreeing on the injunction sent by the 3 members of TVXQ, the trio had the power to look at SM Entertainment's contract for the members. It was shockingly unfair and against public policy. The three members who stood up for themselves (Kim Junsu, Kim Jaejoong, and Park Yoochun) have the court on their side and are now proceeding with their main lawsuit, which is to get the shares and income that they deserve from their activities in the past 6 years.

Below is what the court has presented as the content of the members' contracts. The contract has been modified 5 times since their debut, so this is the overall review.

1. TVXQ has received $0 from their album sales till July 2008, and a very small amount after.

Before the fifth modification that the company made with their contract, it stated that the profit from albums and singles with sales less than 500,000 copies would go 100% to SM Entertainment, which left the members with nothing. There has been no Korean album that have exceeded 500,000 album sales between the time of TVXQ's debut and their 4th album Mirotic, which was the first album in Korea to sell over 500,000 albums for a long time.

On July 1 2008, the company changed the contract so each member would get 1% from album sales that exceeded 200,000 copies. For albums that are below that number, they are paid 0.6% to nothing. Through these terms, TVXQ has not earned a single cent since February 2009.


2. TVXQ has received $0 from sales of concert DVD's and albums with recordings from concerts.

The contract stated that the members are not entitled to get any profit from concert DVD's and "live" albums.


3. TVXQ received $0 from their appearances in TV programs.

In the contract, the members do not have a right to receive the shares made from appearances on television programs if they are featured in only one episode or if their appearance is temporary. SM has kept all the profit from TV shows where TVXQ were guests.


4. For other ways of getting profit, SM subtracts the total amount with all the expenses that the company has paid for them, including clothing, salary of company staff, stage preparation, rent, food expenses, and etc., which only leaves a fraction for the members of TVXQ.

As for all other sources of income, the contract says that the members do not get the full "net income", but only get a percentage of it. The contract states that the "net income" is the profit remaining after deducting their operating costs, which is the money that the company spends on them. The operating costs include expenses that are to be covered by the employer, such as salaries of the staff (manager, clothing coordinators, makeup artists, dance coordinators, back dancers, etc.), performance stages, living expenses which include water and electricity bills, travel expenses which include plane tickets, and meal expenses. The company might add something in addition to deduct more from the net income.

In conclusion, TVXQ actually received anywhere from 1% to 5% from all of their activities, which depending on how you look at it can still add up to 7 figures or more but still many consider this to be unfair.

Big Bang in TIME magazine

One of Korea's hottest boy groups, Big Bang, has been featured in TIME magazine. Usually when we report about Korean stars in magazines, they are in the Korean issue, but not this time! The magazine is also known for presenting Rain as one of the "World's Most Influential People," which is also mention in this article. It seems like TIME can't get enough of kpop!

Big Bang was featured on their website as a Korean band that is currently trying to make it into the Japanese music scene. The article is titled, "How to Crack Japan: The Big Bang Theory." How perfect is that? The story talked about how famous kpop stars set their sights on the Japanese market and that out of all the Korean bands that want to make it in Japan, TIME magazine called Big Bang the "most promising."

The author doesn't cease with the compliments towards the quintet group as they go on about the group's "fluid raps and great vocal harmonies" and unique style of hip-hop music.

It seems as though everyone can agree that Big Bang has what it takes to be able to get attention in America. After getting in a big name magazine like TIME, which is a big deal for international artists, the boys just keep on proving themselves capable.

With the weather quickly getting colder as the days go by, the boys of FT Island are dressed to impress in their warm and fashionable jackets for the season. After releasing their album and music video for their debut single, Love Letter, the sub-group F.T Triple makes their debut performance on M! Countdown.

Although during F.T Island performances, where the attention was mainly on lead singer Lee Hongki, the trio basks in the spotlight and gives a solid debut performance! F.T Triple consists Choi Jong Hoon on piano, Choi Minhwan on drums, and Lee Jae Jin on guitar/vocals. Seems like the boys are doing just fine without their maknae and front man.

BoA’s “White Wishes” PV

We reported back in September that BoA was going to sing for a Japanese RPG game, Tales of Grace and then heard the actual single, White Wishes not long ago.

With the actual song sounding very good already since it's the theme song for a Japanese RPG, that effect was made even better with the release of the PV recently. The MV might look minimalistic and simplistic at first glance but somehow or rather, you get a rather good feeling after watching it. BoA looks really beautiful and mature in this MV too.

TVXQ member Jaejoong’s Another Voice Appearance in MBC

The new singer Taegoon who appeared on the show “Dajja Gojja Quiz”, showed his close relationship with Jaejoong by making him a call. Jaejoong and Taegoon are both from Gongju.

Jaejoong advised Taegoon, “Don’t be nervous in front of me, just be the same as usual.”

This is Jaejoong’s second voice appearance in Sebakwi program. He made everyone in the recording room full with laughter with his wit.

Contract Trouble: Tohoshinki’s 3 Members

TVXQ members Junsu (Xiah), Yoochun (Micky), Jaejoong (Hero), who are having contract issues with their management company SM Entertainment, have expressed that hereafter, they still wish to continue doing activities with the TVXQ members.

On the afternoon of the 28th, an official from Sejong, their representative law firm, said in a telephone interview to STARNEWS, “All 3 members have said that they want to continue working together with the TVXQ members. Having grown up under the name of TVXQ, they definitely want to continue working with the TVXQ members, for a long time to come.”

However, when asked about the 2 other members, Yunho (U-know) and Changmin (Max), the official was not specific and said, “There’s nothing I can say regarding that.”

Also, regarding their move to invalidate the members’ contracts as well as change the profit distribution, he explained that, “It would be difficult if we advance on that in the middle of the week. Some time next week, we’ll set about doing it.”

TVXQ will Resume Activities in Japan

After the last October 27th Court decision of terminating some effects of exclusive contract, the five members of TVXQ will be back to Japan and resume their activities there.

On the 29th (today) Daily Sports Japan met TVXQ’s official from their signed Japanese label AVEX, and as quoted from the official, TVXQ members should be back to Japan to continue their full activities this fall.

The official did not mention a specific schedule, however he said that the year-end events such as “The 51st TBS Japan Record Award” (organized by Japan Composers Association) and especially “The 60th NHK Uta Gassen” are included in the current schedule.

According to Sankei Sports on the 29th, the popular group Tohoshinki will also participate in theme song for NHK new drama “とめはねっ!铃里高校书道部” that is starting on January 7th next year, the song is entitled “BREAK OUT!”

NHK side commented, “We’re gathering image as Tohoshinki is one of the most popular group in Japan right now.” . While TVXQ leader U-Know Yunho said about their new song, “We hope through this song, we can give even just a little cheering hope for the youngsters.”

TVXQ will strive to be five again

With the lawsuit still in-progress, TVXQ's three members Xiah Junsu, Youngwoong Jaejoong and Micky Yoochun stated through their aide in the firm, "This lawsuit left out the two members, so as much as possible, we'll try to make it with all five." [omitted]

New Song "Break Out" will be released in Japan!

New Song's Title: "BREAK OUT!!"

It is revealed on October 28th, 2009,
that TVXQ will take charge of the main theme song of
"Break Out!" which will be used at NHK's New Drama Series,
"Tomehane (Let us jump together)! Suzusato High School, Calligraphy Club".
(The Drama will start to air on January 7th, 2010; 8 PM on Thursdays.)

It is the first time for TVXQ to sing the theme song in Japanese production work of NHK.
They sang "Beautiful You", the theme song of the historical Korean Drama, "The Legend",
broad casted at NHK (2007-2008).

NHK chose TVXQ because they are:
"The group which has the most power right now (by NHK).
TVXQ participated last year's "Kohaku Utagassen,
(Red and White New Year's Music Special by NHK)";
they also performed two nights in Tokyo Dome very successfully."

The song will be a light pop music.
It is connected to the story line of the drama,
which displays the love story and the competition of the small calligraphy club
at the High school.

"Grab your own future, be positive and keep on going,
then your destiny will become bright! It is all up to you!"

That kind of message is included in this theme song.

TVXQ's leader Yunho (23) said,
"That will be nice if we could support young people
who are trying their best to achieve their dreams in their lives."

MBLAQ + 2NE1 to perform on d same stage....

Wow! MBLAQ, particularly member Thunder (천둥) is just all over the news today! It's not all that surprising though since he is 2NE1 Dara's younger brother. Anyway, the two groups will both be performing on October 31st at the Seoul Olympic Stadium for the "Superstar Power of Love Concert."

Thunder stated to a Newsen reporter:

"It will be the first time for me to appear on the same stage as my sister. I'm very happy."

It's also been revealed that Rain will take the stage that day and a match between him and MBLAQ will unfold.

It is unclear whether Thunder and Dara will put on a special joint performance, but one can only hope the two siblings pull out a special surprise.
