Max Changmin Says, “After My First Victory, My Parents Texted Me… It Made Me Feel Emotional”

After winning his first badminton match, Max Changmin received an emotional text message from his parents.

During the episode of KBS 2TV’s ‘Our Neighborhood’s Master of Variety and Sports’ that is set to air on the 30th, Max Changmin reveals, “No one was happier for me than my parents.”

The reason was because Max Changmin won his first victory during his badminton match against the Joonggok-dong team. Although he had always worked hard at honing his skills for bowling and table tennis, he was unable to clinch a single victory. He poured all his passion into the new sport of badminton, and it resulted in a precious first victory for him.

Lee Soo Geun showed how proud he was of Max Changmin as he said, “We should call Max Changmin ‘First Victory’ from now on.” When he was asked how his friends and family reacted, Max Changmin said, “No one was happier for me than my parents,” and “My parents told me that all their friends have been expressing their worry and concern for me, saying, ‘It must be distressing to see your son cry all the time.’”

Max Changmin showed his affection for his parents as he said, “My parents sent me a text message at midnight after my first badminton victory in Joonggok-dong. The text they sent me read, ‘Our son! We’re so happy for you. We were so happy that it felt like our own accomplishment.’ When I read that text, I felt very emotional.”

Max Changmin and partner Lee Jong Soo’s badminton skills will be shown tonight at 11:20pm on ‘Our Neighborhood’s Master of Variety and Sports’.

Max Changmin Goes For His Second Victory On ‘Our Neighborhood’s Master’… Will He Succeed?

Max Changmin is going for his second victory on KBS 2TV’s ‘Our Neighborhood’s Master of Variety and Sports’.

During the episode that airs on the 30th, he and the other members of the celebrity team will go against the Goyang-si Joongsan-dong badminton club.

The members of ‘Our Neighborhood’s Master’ went through boot camp last week to build their strength and hone their badminton skills. The Joongsan-dong team is composed of both young and old, but all very talented, badminton players.

With such talented players up against them, the match is expected to be cut-throat. With the celebrity team gaining confidence as they go through various table tennis, bowling and badminton matches, everyone is interested to see how Max Changmin will do. Anyone who has been watching the show till now will know just how priceless his challenge is.

A representative of ‘Our Neighborhood’s Master’ stated, “During the match that took place two weeks ago in Joongsan-dong, he seemed to be more confident than before,” and “He’s always been silently practicing and doing his best, and everyone was surprised by how much he has grown.”

Max Changmin scored his first victory during his first badminton match on the 16th; this was his first victory on the show in three months.

Although he has a packed schedule, as expected of any Hallyu star of his caliber, he has been practicing very hard with his partner Lee Jong Soo and the results reflect his hard work.

The representative also added, “We can’t reveal the results of the match because it would spoil the show, but the change in Changmin’s gaze and appearance will be very apparent.”

Fair Trade Commission Orders SM Ent. to Stop Interfering With JYJ′s Promotions...

[NEWS] 130724 Fair Trade Commission Orders SM Ent. to Stop Interfering With JYJ′s Promotions

The Fair Trade Commission (FTC) ordered SM Entertainment to let up on its pressure on JYJ.

The FTC stated on July 24, "We told SM and the Korea Pop Culture and Arts Industry Coalition to stop interfering with others′ business activities, and ordered them to notify related institutes, such as broadcasting companies, of this fact."

According to an investigation by the FTC, SM and the Coalition had sent an official notice in October 2010, after the JYJ members left TVXQ (DBSK), to 26 broadcasting companies and album distributors, asking them to refrain from casting JYJ or from distributing their music.

The FTC judged that considering the influence of SM and the Coalition in the industry, this notice would have pressured those who received it, and interfered with JYJ′s promotions as a singer.

On this, JYJ′s agency C-JeS Entertainment commented, "We thank the FTC for its decision. This fight started in 2009 and had since made us feel like we′ve been walking a desert with no end, but today′s announcement made us feel that things were becoming better, and we felt we had been supported."

"We hope this notice will help [us] promote fairly before the public, and also open new doors for our juniors," it finished.

SM Entertainment, on the other hand, said about the decision, "We′re sorry such a decision was made because we′ve never interfered [with JYJ′s promotions]. SM is considering taking legal measures on the decision."

Park Yoo Chun, Kim Junsu and Kim Jae Joong left SM and its former group TVXQ after lodging a lawsuit against the agency. The three have been performing as JYJ.

U-Know Yunho, keeps performing with a knee injury in Shanghai..
Ailee, keeps dancing with a busted ankle..

Last weekend brought news of singers soldiering on with scheduled activities, despite their injuries, in the K-pop world.

TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho injured his knee due to an injury involving a wire snapping off during his concert, while Ailee hurt her ankle while preparing for her broadcasted activities.

During TVXQ’s ‘TVXQ! LIVE WORLD TOUR – CATCH ME in SHANGHAI’ concert at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai on the 20th, one of the wires U-Know Yunho was using snapped off, causing the singer to hurt his right knee. According to a representative who was at the concert, the wire snapped off while U-Know Yunho was using a piece of equipment that worked the same way as a swing, and the singer got hurt when his right knee hit the ground first. Though U-Know Yunho did not suffer from any major injuries, he looked to be in pain because of his injured leg. Though this was the case, he completed his group’s concert, all the way to the very end.

Group JYJ’s member Junsu (XIA) talked about his new song “Incredible” and its music video, and also of his upcoming Asia Tour.
Today, a press conference was held for Junsu’s asia tour in Thailand. When he was asked about his kiss scene in his music video, he smiled and said, “There’s something that I really wanted to say.”
Junsu said, “In the MV and also about showing it in the LED lights during the concert, I had never offered it. I didn’t want to look like a little boy before, but now I just want to be a little boy to my fans. I didn’t want a kiss scene. But since the music also has a romantic part, I think the staff wanted it in the MV as well. I didn’t hate it but… please just know that I never offered or suggested it myself.”
He also said, “Thailand concert tomorrow, I’ll be doing my best so please enjoy. I prepared songs from both albums.”

JYJ Yoochun Voted The Artist Who Best Represents K-Pop In 2013...

The results of Stage 2 of the KpopStarz reader poll are in and Yoochun is the winner!

JYJ’s Yoochun wins!

The final results of Stage 2 of the KpopStarz semiannual reader poll are in, and JYJ singer Yoochun has been named the artist who best represents K-Pop so far this year.
Yoochun came out on top ahead of his former TVXQ group-mates U-Know Yunho and Max Changmin with 20.33% of the vote.
It seems like fans of Stage 1 ‘Group Who Expanded the Most Globally in the First Half of 2013′ winners TVXQ were divided over which member to vote for – Yunho received 12.62% of reader votes and Changmin rounded out the top three with 9.4%.
Yoochun’s fellow JYJ members Jaejoong and Junsu also made their ways into the top ten at number five (6.5%) and number eight (3.47%) respectively.
The results raise an interesting point – unified or divided, the original five members of TVXQ remain a constant force in the Korean music industry a decade after their debut.
There were a variety of other noteworthy idols who had strong showings in our poll results.  CNBLUE leader Jung Yonghwa was just barely beat out for the third spot by Max Changmin, and came in fourth with 9.05% of the votes, also topping last year’s winner Jaejoong.
Kai and Luhan, two EXO members, one from EXO-K and one from EXO-M found themselves among the poll leaders, ranking sixth and tenth overall.
The only female idol to make it into the top ten was f(x)’s Victoria at number seven and Big Bang leader and solo sensation G-Dragon made an appearance at number nine with a respectable 3.26%.
The first solo artist to rank was Kim Hyun Joong at number 11, while the next female on the list is 15th place finisher Jiyeon of girl group T-Ara.

Thanks to all of you who voted!

Jaejoong and Junsu to enlist in the MIlitary this year!! :D

LOL!!! I HOPE YOU ALL CHOOSE MARINES!!! :D

It has been found that JYJ’s Kim Junsu and Kim Jaejoong will be enlisting in the military this year.
Multiple sources in the K-pop industry have stated that the two singers are currently deciding on a date ahead of their military enlistment. In Kim Jaejoong’s case, he has already been given multiple draft notices, but has pushed back his enlistment due to reasons such as long periods of time spent overseas. However, it has become difficult for him to push back his enlistment any further.
A representative of the industry stated, “He is currently deciding on an enlistment date with his agency due to issues surrounding frequent overseas concerts and scheduled activities,” and “From what I know, he either plans to go near the end of this year, or next January to February at the latest.”
Kim Junsu, who received a second grade active duty designation, is also in discussions about his enlistment date.
A representative stated, “Taking into consideration the current controversy surrounding celebrity soldiers, he would like to enlist as a regular solider.” He continued to add, “The enlistment of male celebrities has always been a sensitive topic, and both singers are of the opinion to go the regular track and avoid the criticism that follows a shaky celebrity enlistment. They can’t help but be cautious as their status as top stars will make their enlistment a hot topic.”
Born in 1986 and 1987 respectively, Kim Jaejoong and Kim Junsu still have a bit of leeway age-wise in pushing back their enlistment, but both have already pushed it back numerous times. All three members of the group became the center of spotlight when they visited the Office of Military Manpower Administration for their physical checkups on the 14th of February, 2011. Kim Jaejoong’s draft notice set his enlistment for September, 2011 but was reported to have been pushed back to the following year. Now, the singer can’t help but be aware of public sentiment surrounding celebrity enlistments.
A representative of C-JeS stated, “All three members of JYJ plan to enlist in the military, like every other male in Korea.” However, he did not say much on when exactly the members would be enlisting.
Meanwhile, JYJ’s other member Park Yoochun has received a fourth grade reservist duty designation due to his asthma. There is no news yet on when Park Yoochun plans to enlist in the military.

[T/N: A few clarifications on military service for those who are worried.
- What is the grade system?
The grade system is one that designates men enlisting in the military to certain 'grades', depending on their physical state. Grade 1 is the highest ranking you can receive and a person is docked to lower grades based on physical attributes such as poor eyesight, high blood pressure, being underweight or any physical illnesses. Grade 1~3 are assigned to active duty, Grade 4 is assigned to reservist duty and so on (I omitted the rest since they don't apply to JYJ)
-What does active duty mean in Korea?
Active duty in Korea doesn't mean anything overseas (for the most part). This usually means the initial training/boot camp period + staying at a base in Korea for the rest of the enlistment. Soldiers get holidays once in a while to leave the base and visit family and friends, which is why it's not unusual to see see people in uniform in the subway or buses.
-How long is the enlistment period?
1. Army/Marine - 1 year 9 months
2. Navy - 1 year 11 months
3. Air Force - 2 years
Each person can choose which he sector in the military he would like to go to.
-Is pushing back your military enlistment normal?
Yes! Regular people, not just celebrities, push back their enlistment for various reasons. The most used case is that Koreans who are studying overseas can push back their enlistment date in order to further their studies. In the case of celebrities, most push their enlistment date back till their late 20s or early 30s so it isn't unusual for JYJ to have done so as well.
Most regular people just decide to go early (first or second year of university) so that it doesn't hinder them in their upperclassmen years when they're trying to find jobs and graduate. (My guy friends are all disappearing one by one ;___;)
Hope this helps a little!]

[TRANS] 130717 XIA JUNSU SELLS OUT BOTH HIS SEOUL – BUSAN CONCERTS… AMAZING TICKET POWER

JYJ’s Kim Junsu has proved yet again that he has unbeatable ticket power by selling out all 32,000 seats for his Seoul and Busan concerts.

According to Kim Junsu’s agency C-JeS Entertainment, all 18,000 seats of XIA Junsu’s Seoul concerts sold out last week and all 14,000 seats of his Busan concert, for which ticket reservations began yesterday, have sold out as well.

Regarding this, a representative of the ticket reservation site in charge said, “It’s amazing enough that he managed to sell all his tickets in August, the off-season for musicals, but to hear that he has sold out his concerts in Seoul and Busan as well, which are set a week apart, shows just how powerful Kim Junsu is when it comes to selling tickets.”

Meanwhile, Kim Junsu held a showcase on the 15th to commemorate the release of his second solo album, and will begin his Asia Tour on the 20th in Thailand.

Fanaccount of meeting Jaejoong cycling in France ....

Jaejoong's autograph for the fan

Jaejoong was laughing wholeheartedly (and loudly) and he was wearing black shades when the fan saw him. He placed his bike properly and went to buy some water. The fan took some pictures of him. When they were buying water, the fan finally mustered enough courage to ask for signature. She used English to request the autograph from Jaejoong.

Jaejoong hmmed and took the initiative to reach out and take the pen from the fan. He made eye contact with the fan when she shouted his name. As said, his face is very skinny and very white. He didn't shave and his lips are the same jellyish texture as seen in photos.

Fan used English to tell Jaejoong that she is a Chinese fan and Jaejoong replied thank you in Chinese. After signing, manager used English to say thanks, and Jaejoong thanked the fan. The fan then thanked both of them.

Jaejoong and manager continued to rest for a while. He was drinking soda and he smoked. He then played some games on a black Samsung phone passed to him by his manager. Before leaving, Jaejoong looked around to see if there is rubbish bin or such to throw his rubbish away. (Good idol~! ❤)

The fan used Korean to say "oppa, goodbye" and Jaejoong turned around and nodded at her. He then cycled away. The fan commented that the way he cycles is so handsome~

The fan wants to clarify a few things:
  1. Jaejoong isn't short.
  2. He didn't use cologne (at least for yesterday).
  3. He wore 2 rings and chrome heart bracelet on his right hand, and his left hand is just full of bracelets.
  4. His legs are especially skinny.
  5. The way Jaejoong cycles is more handsome than how he drives.
  6. Jaejoong was wearing long sleeves, the same as what he wore in his selca.
  7. The fan saw Jaejoong and manager in Chamonix, France, not in Paris, France.

EXO’s Suho Says, “I Was Disappointed Because U-Know Yunho Only Took Care Of Kai After Our Debut” ...

EXO’s Suho confessed that he felt disappointed because of TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho.

The episode of Mnet’s ‘BeatlesCode2′ that aired on the 15th showed never-before-seen footage from Ivy and EXO.

On this day, Suho chose TVXQ’s ‘Hug’ as his most memorable song and said, “There’s one thing about U-Know Yunho that makes me feel sad. Before we made our debut, I was once told off by him.”

He continued to reveal, “The reason I was told off was because U-Know Yunho told the leader in our group to come forward after one of the members made a mistake. I was told off as the representative of the group, and I became good friends with him afterwards.”

Suho then confessed, “But after we made our debut, he started to only take care of Kai, who is the main dancer in our group,” and “We agreed to eat together after the SM concert, but we still haven’t done that yet.”

To finish off, Suho stated, “I’ll pay for the meal. I miss you.”
