Tuesday, May 1

The SM Entertainment artists opened up about the times they regretted joining the company.
The showcase for SM Entertainment’s new film ‘I AM‘ was held on April 30th, and f(x) members Sulli and KrystalGirls’ Generation‘s Hyoyeon, as well as Kang Ta drew interest for admitting that at certain times they regretted joining SM.
I lived in a dorm since I was in the fifth grade,” Sulli began. “I wanted to go home and I wanted to see my mom. My house was in Busan, and I was so upset that I could not go visit often.”
Sulli’s fellow f(x) member Krystal also added, “I was so frustrated that we had to live and stay at the company every day.
Hyoyeon revealed that her reasons were similar to theirs. “I had to commute 3~4 hours, and it was hard on me at such a young age.”
Former H.O.T member Kang Ta who is now a director at SM Entertainment shared that he regretted joining the company because his trainee days were extremely difficult. “We ordered Chinese noodles every other day, and we ate sausages as meals.” He revealed that fellow H.O.T member Tony was once reprimanded for two whole days after ordering japchae, a popular Korean dish of sweet potato noodles. Kang Ta further revealed that he wore leggings during his trainee days, and that he used his reflection in the window when practicing, in place of a real mirror.
Meanwhile, SM Entertainment’s new film ‘I AM’ scheduled to hit the big screens on May 10th is a documentary-style movie that will reveal the journey of the SM artists from their days as a trainee until now.

JYP's Stardard for JYP Trainees ...

Singer and producer J.Y. Park revealed his standards for selecting trainees for JYP Entertainment.
On the April 30th episode of SBS ‘Healing Camp‘, J.Y. Park revealed, “My standards for selecting a ‘K-POP STAR’ winner are different from my standards for selecting a trainee.
I like the hopefuls who are natural, who cannot hide their real selves,” he continued. “Those types always stand out to me. I tend to select the ones that I can’t help but like even when just looking at them.”
That’s why none of our artists do well on variety shows,” he added. “Jo Kwon is an exception, but if you get to know him, he’s actually really sensitive and introverted.”
There may be artists under JYP Entertainment who are lacking when it comes to vocal talent, but none of them seem unnatural,” he said, displaying his pride in his disciples.
J.Y. Park also revealed the well-organized lifestyle he has maintained for the past 17 years, as well as a behind-the-scenes story about Yang Hyun Suk.

Artistes from Star Empire Entertainment were present at a press conference on the 8th to launch a new office reality show called Emperor's Children (or Children of the Emperor) which will be aired on 15th April through Mnet cable channel. The press conference was held at the headquarters of the Star Empire Entertainment office located at Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul with Jewelry, V.O.S., Poppin' Hyun Joon, Julien Kang, Sori and Star Empire trainees appearing in person to grace the event.
The reality show is basically about what goes on behind the scenes at Star Empire Entertainment, showing viewers how the artistes work usually, their rehearsals, their lifestyles, likely conflicts, etc. Most interesting part would probably be seeing the current trainees in training to become stars of the future.
