KBS International Broadcast and NHK conducted a poll from June 26th to July 4th, surveying 1000 Korean and 1473 Japanese participants of over 20 years old. The results are as follows:

Lee Myung Bak - 7.3%
Choi Ji Woo - 4.3%
Lee Byung Hun - 3.9%

A local report from Japan: Favored Korean boom star differs by the age group.

The term Hanryu was initially created by Chinese media in early 2000.
In Japan after the broadcast of the Korean drama, 'Winter Sonata' in 2003.
Korean boom has become the heat which has obviously been cooled down now
since five years has been past thereafter.

However, there still remains the South Korean performances which are
favored by Japanese according to each age group.

The young generations who like aural senses tend to like Korean singers.
The reason is that these singers satisfy all of their senses such as their listening interests and visual interests.

On the other hand, one's in their thirties favor actores such as Hyunbin, Song Hegyo,
Song Sunhon, who features their attractive looks.

And the people in their forties and fifties who are full of sensitivities greatly favors
Yon sama (Bae Youngjoon) who had the warm imagine in his dramas.

Here are the list of the South Korean stars whom Japanese like

according to their age group.

- Teens 20's: Singers.

"I do not know any actors in the Korean drama, but I know singers".
A Japanese High school student shared her word with the journalist.
They do not see Korean dramas but they listen to Korean singers music is what she told us.

The singers whom these age group especially like are TVXQ and BOA, SS501, and FT Island, etc.
These singers all sold Japanese records in Japanse market.
They promote and do Japanese activities just like Japanese singers.

All these Japanese who were interviewed knew that these singers are from South Korea.
Especially among these age group from Teens to 20's,
it did not seem to matter weather the singers are South Koreans or not.

A college woman in her twenties, Naomi (21) said,
"I believe that if they are in my age group, they would parhaps like TVXQ". "
I also listen to other Korean music by other Korean artists".

Talking about such a phenomenon, Mr. Yuki a local Japanese journalist mentioned that
"TVXQ's popularity in Japan is no different from Johnny's idol groups in Japan.
Their looks and the music is well matched to Japanese style.
So, there is no problem for them to be accepted here in Japan."

(T/N): Many fans who participated the TSC Tokyo Dome concert had reported that around
half of the fans were about TVXQ's age group or younger and the other half were older than TVXQ.

So, to know actual number of the age group, we would need to hear from Avex, Bigeast Fan Club.

I personally believe that the numbers of fans who are in TVXQ's age group are
increasing rapidly in Japan more than the older group.

For example, Yonsama never appeared in the teens or 20's magazines (such as VIVI and Seventeen)
but TVXQ's appearance in those magazines are inevitable.

Bae Yong Joon Hospitalized

Hallyu world star and actor Bae Yong Joon has been sent to the hospital from overwork and exhaustion.

On September 17, Bae Yong Joon had fainted from exhaustion, overwork and stress, and was sent to a local hospital in Gangnam. But this was only made known to the public on the 20th and Bae Yong Joon is reportedly still in hospital for treatment.

A BOF representative expressed, "Bae Yong Joon is currently receiving treatment on a IV drip but is otherwise in a stable condition. His blood pressure and blood sugar has lowered by a lot and is showing the early stages of Septicemia, or blood poisoning."

It was reported that when Bae Yong Joon had attended his manager's wedding not too long ago, there were comments from worried fans like, "He lost about 10 kilograms. I do not know why he keeps on losing weight," and "he has lost so much weight that his clothes are too big for him."

The represenative added, "We did not announce the situation earlier because we were afraid that we would worry many of Bae Yong Joon's fans. There are no complications thus far and everything should be fine."

Bae Yong Joon is scheduled for discharge before the 22nd, which is the day he publishes a book titled, 'Taking A Vacation to Find the Beauties of Korea." On 29th and 30th of September, Bae Yong Joon will be promoting the animation of the famous Korean drama which he starred in, "Winter Sonata".

Bae Yong Joon gives best face award to TVXQ Jaejoong

Even though I believe TVXQ's Jaejoong is in fact a robot, I can't say that I'm surprised.

When offered the "Best Face in Asia and South Korea" award, Bae Yong Joon declined it and instead offered it to Jaejoong claiming that Jaejoong has the best face in Asia. According to Bae Yong Joon the best face "should always look handsome whenever you look at them, always look cute, always look pretty, to be chic and always look good." Yeah... I don't know about you, but that seems like all the same damn thing to me.

Other contenders for the award were members from Super Junior, SS501, Shinhwa, 2pm and SHINee, but out of all of those, Jaejoong was selected.

Though I don't particularly agree, *cough cough*, I'm glad Bae Yong Joon's old self gave up the title to a more deserving younger star... I mean, it only took him EIGHT YEARS!

Wonder Girls, most popular group in Thailand ; Bae Yong Joon Most Popular Actor

Korea-Thailand Exchange Center did a survey on 27th February until 26th March.

489 Thai's was surveyed four times on different categories.Based on the result of the survey,Bae Yong Joon gets 22.8% of the voting,becoming the most popular male actor.

Won Bin and Kim Rae Won was the first and second runner up with 18.8% and 13.3% each. For female actor,Song Hye-Kyo won first place with 21.75% of the vote while Yoon Eun-Hye 20.4% and Lee Da Hae 20% follows tightly at the back. They gained so much popularity because one of the TV channel in Thailand was airing <<>> and <<>>.

For the singers category,Wonder Girls gets the crown with 17.2% of voting, becoming the most popular group in Thailand,

Rain with 17%,Super Junior with 15.5%, Big Bang with 15% and DBSK with 14.5% follows up. During the survey, Wonder Girls held a successful concert and their popularity shot up tremendously. Based on the result of analyzing, the image of Korea was high affected by Kpop because 99% of the respondents said that Korea's image was better compared to five years ago. When they're asked for the reason,they said that its because they're affected by Korean drama and singer.
