Because of one statement from group JYJ's YoungWoong Jaejoong, 'Korean' became the most searched world on a Japanese site.
In the afternoon of the 11th, YoungWoong Jaejoong left a tweet in Japanese on his personal Twitter that said, 'I won't forget Japanese, so everyone, please do your best to study Korean'.
A mere 20 minutes after the tweet came up, 'Korean' took the number one spot on 'Hot Word', Twitter Japan's 'most searched' rankings. 'YoungWoong Jaejoong' also ranked on the charts in second place.
Netizens who heard this news didn't hide their amazement as they said, 'I'm seriously amazed by the time graph', 'I never knew that Hallyu stars had this much of an influence in Japan.'
JYJ will begin their USA Showcase tour on the 12th in New York, visiting LA and Las Vegas afterward.
Following this, they will be holding a concert for their first album 'The Beginning' at the Jamshil Olympic Stadium on the 27th and 28th.
